President Obama Marks 100 Days in Office
-- Barack Obama has been president for 100 days now, and a lot of people are looking at what he has accomplished so far.
The 100-day mark is the first major milestone in a presidency, but it doesn't relate to anything official. Mostly it's a chance for the media to take an early look at how a new president is doing.
Even the experts say 100 days don't mean much. It's kind of like the beginning of school: You might like your new math teacher (or not!) after just one month, but you won't know what you've learned until the year is over.

Gives Those Kids A's
-- Speaking of school, it looks like you've been learning a lot. A national survey of the country's 9- and 13-year-olds shows them doing much better in math and reading than kids did in 1971.
Nine-year-olds had the highest average scores ever last year. The nation's 13-year-olds improved their scores. The scores of high school students were unchanged.
