Cavs Top Field, Terps Get Bid
Virginia (13-2) is the No. 1 seed in the NCAA men's lacrosse field announced last night. The Cavaliers will host Villanova on Sunday.
Maryland (9-6) will visit seventh-seeded Notre Dame on Sunday. (Bracket, D5)
Attackman Will Yeatman, a Notre Dame transfer who had 13 goals this season, will face his old team.
"The thing to keep in mind is that Will has great friends on the Notre Dame team and on the Maryland team," Maryland Coach Dave Cottle said.
Patriot League tournament champion Navy (11-4) will play at third-seeded Duke on Saturday night.
"They're great in transition, and we're going to have to play really well to have a chance," Navy Coach Richie Meade said.
Maryland (No. 2 seed), Georgetown and Virginia all made the women's tournament.

Dynamo Wins on Road
Stuart Holden and Brian Ching scored goals as the Houston Dynamo defeated the short-handed New England Revolution, 2-0, in an MLS game in Foxborough, Mass., to snap a six-game regular season winless streak in the series.
Pat Onstad had to make just one save for his third shutout of the season for Houston. . . .
Liverpool outplayed Newcastle, 3-0, to stay within three points of Manchester United in the Premier League title race and push the Magpies closer to relegation.
