One person has been killed and two children injured in an accident in rainy conditions late this morning in Clinton, authorities said.

A Lincoln Navigator and a Honda sedan collided at Temple Hills and Piscataway roads, about four miles southwest of Andrews Air Force Base, just before 11 a.m., Prince George's County police spokesman Henry Tippett said.

Police did not immediately release the name or age of the victim, or say in which vehicle the person had been traveling. Mark Brady, a spokesman for Prince George's Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department, said two children -- one male and one female -- sustained minor injuries in the crash. They were taken to a hospital in Clinton for observation, he said.

The intersection is expected to remain closed until late this afternoon, when a police accident reconstruction team completes its investigation.
