A weekly playlist for the listener with a one-track mind.

Todd Snider and Loretta Lynn: "Don't Tempt Me"

Snider is sort of like Jimmy Buffett for people who like to smoke pot and watch porn. Here he teams with a ferocious-sounding Lynn for an old-fashioned honky-tonk duet.

Discovery: "Orange Shirt"

Members of yesteryear sensations Vampire Weekend and Ra Ra Riot unite for this killer new track, an addictive mix of electro, space-age boy-band pop and '90s R&B.

Oak Ridge Boys: "Seven Nation Army" (White Stripes cover)

Yes, really.

Clipse featuring Kanye West and Bun B.: "Kinda Like a Big Deal"

What's the best way to get people buzzing again about your pretty excellent song that came out last week, which in blogosphere years basically means forever ago? How about re-leaking it with a gratuitous reference to the swine flu, and watch the blog entries write themselves?

Stephan Zielinski: "Swine Flu Hemagglutinin"

Writer/programmer Zielinski has also set the swine flu to music, using an elaborate algorithm that has something to do with translating the virus's amino acids into beats. As if it hasn't done enough damage already, swine flu here sounds like a New Age-y version of something Brian Eno might have done in the '70s. So go ahead and freak out, if you haven't already.
