ELECTIONS

Alexandria, Vienna Polls Open Today

Voters in Alexandria and the town of Vienna will head to the polls for local elections today. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In Alexandria, 10 candidates, including five incumbents, are vying for six spots on the City Council.

All nine School Board seats are also up for election; six are uncontested Mayor William D. Euille (D) is also on the ballot for reelection and running unopposed.

In Vienna, five candidates, including two incumbents, are running for three at-large council seats.

ARLINGTON COUNTY

Driver Crashes Into Oncoming Traffic, Dies

Arlington County police are investigating a fatal crash on North Glebe Road yesterday that killed a 59-year-old man.

About 8 a.m., Xuan Van Pham was southbound on North Glebe near North River Street when he drove over the median and into oncoming traffic, police said.
