Parenting site Babble has raised an additional $1.25 million from Greycroft Partners and private investors, on top of the $2 million it got from Village Ventures in December when it was spun off from Nerve Media. CEO Rufus Griscom told us that the additional funds will be used to expand the site's features and interactive functions. Babble is in a crowded parenting category, competing with sites like Urbanbaby, BabyCenter and iVillage. The funding was first reported by TechCrunch.

Griscom said earlier this year that he would step down as CEO of Nerve Media to run Babble.com full-time. Former Onion president Sean Mills is now serving as Nerve Media's CEO.
