21-Year-Old Man Shot, Killed Near Convention Center

D.C. police released the identity of a man who was found shot last night on Seventh Street NW, near the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

The victim is Brandon Scott, 21, of the 4800 Kansas Ave NW. Police said an officer on patrol heard gunshots at 9:37 p.m. and summoned assistance to help search the area. Police said that Scott was found in the 1100 block of Seventh Street, between L and M streets. He was taken to a local University hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
