CARJACKING

REDLAND RD. AND SOMERVILLE DR., 1:30 p.m. May 11. Several people in a Metro parking lot forced a man from his Chrysler Lebaron and drove away in it.

SHADY GROVE RD., 15000 block, 4:45 p.m. May 11. A man tried to force his way into a female motorist's vehicle. She drove away and called police.

ROBBERIES

RANDOLPH AND VEIRS MILL ROADS, 3:30 p.m. May 5. Three people took a cellphone from a male riding a bus, then told him he could buy it back for $20. He gave them cash, which they kept without returning the property. They then got off the bus in Wheaton. Three arrests were made.

TWINBROOK PKWY. AND DOWGATE CT., 9:15 p.m. May 6. Three men got out of a car and threatened a pedestrian at gunpoint. After forcing him to the ground, they took property and fled in a black or blue Toyota Corolla.

VEIRS MILL RD., 2000 block, 12:30 a.m. May 10. Four males and two females assaulted a male on a bus and fled with property.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

AVERY RD., 15500 block, 12:34 a.m. May 7. An attempt was made to break into an occupied residence. An arrest was made.

CARMELITA DR., 9800 block, 1:21 a.m. May 8. An attempt was made to break into a residence.

CHAPMAN AVE., 1600 block, 2:30 p.m. May 8. Property was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in a Metro station parking lot.

FALLS RD., 10800 block, 3:15 a.m. May 5. Property was stolen from a golf-course pro shop entered by force.

GAINSBOROUGH RD., 11300 block, 3:50 a.m. May 11. A male was seen running from a high school. Nothing was reported missing.

GIBBS ST., 100 block, 11 p.m. May 8. A business was entered by force.

GREY BIRCH WAY, 14000 block, 12:20 p.m. May 7. A male trying to break into an occupied residence fled when confronted. Nothing was reported missing.

HUNTING HORN LANE, 9000 block, 8 p.m. May 10 to 5:30 a.m. May 11. A purse was stolen from a vehicle in a residence's open garage.

SANGAMORE RD., 4800 block, 6:40 p.m. May 8. A man knocked a pedestrian to the ground and assaulted her. She broke free and ran to a shopping center.

ST. ELMO AVE., 4900 block, 2 a.m. May 9. A man in a bar threw a drinking glass, which hit an employee in the face.

GLENMOOR DR., 3500 and 3600 blocks, 8 p.m. May 7 to 4 a.m. May 8. A pair of glasses, a set of keys and loose change were among items stolen from three unlocked vehicles. In a fourth incident, a vehicle was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

GRAFTON ST., 100 block, 7 p.m. May 4 to 7 a.m. May 5. A laptop computer, a cellphone and a Global Positioning System device were among items stolen from two unlocked vehicles. In a third incident, an unlocked vehicle was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

HOMEWOOD PKWY., 3000 block, 7 p.m. May 7 to 9 a.m. May 8. Cash and a purse were among items stolen from two unlocked vehicles.

WOODBINE ST., 3500 block, 6 p.m. May 5 to 8:20 a.m. May 6. A satellite radio was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

WOODBINE ST., 4100 block, 7 p.m. May 5 to 7 a.m. May 6. A Global Positioning System device was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

80TH ST., 6500 block, 4:30 a.m. May 8. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

CAMROSE TERR., 6400 block, 7 p.m. May 7 to 10 a.m. May 8. A 2004 BMW was stolen.

HOLMHURST RD., 9900 block, 11:30 p.m. May 5 to 6:50 a.m. May 6. A 2009 Saturn was stolen. The vehicle was recovered in Prince George's County.

BLACKBURN LANE, 3900 block, 9 p.m. May 5. Two men robbed a food-delivery driver at knifepoint.

CASTLE BLVD., 13900 block, 1:09 a.m. May 6. Three males got into a fight with a male, took property and fled.

OLD COLUMBIA PIKE AND BRIGGS CHANEY RD., 2 a.m. May 8. Five males surrounded a male and demanded his wallet. When he refused, they knocked him to the ground and fled with the wallet.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BARRON ST., 8000 block, 3:13 a.m. May 7. A vehicle was entered. Two men fled empty-handed in a gray, four-door Nissan Altima when they realized they had been seen.

BLACKBURN LANE, 3900 block, 11 a.m. May 7. Three male teenagers entered an occupied home, took property and fled.

BURNT EMBER DR., 10400 block, 4 a.m. May 5. Property was stolen from several vehicles. Two men of no fixed addresses were arrested.

CASTLE BLVD., 14100 block, 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. May 4. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

COLESVILLE RD., 8300 block, 11 p.m. May 5 to 5:21 a.m. May 6. Property was stolen from two businesses entered by force in a shopping mall.

COLESVILLE RD., 8300 block, EAST-WEST HWY., 1300 block, and KENNETT ST., 8000 block, May 5 to 7. A camera, a cellphone and electronic equipment were among property stolen from four vehicles parked in county-owned and commercial lots.

DOWNS DR., 700 and 1200 blocks, BRANTFORD AVE., 600, 1000, 1100 and 1200 blocks, SANDALWOOD LANE, 12300 block, WINHALL WAY, 700 and 900 blocks, EASTBORNE DR., 12600 block, May 5 to May 6. Cash, Global Positioning System devices and other property were stolen from 22 vehicles, 13 of them entered by force.

MENLEE DR., 1500 block, 2 p.m. May 7 to 7:30 a.m. May 8. Property was stolen from a shed at a residence.

OLD COLUMBIA PIKE, 15000 block, 1:11 p.m. May 8. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

PALERMO DR., 12500 block, 12:11 a.m. May 10. A man being chased by police entered a residence through an unlocked front door and fled through the back. With the help of a police K-9 unit, an arrest was made.

PAULA DR., 1500 block, 9:57 p.m. May 12. Two men robbed a motorist getting out of a vehicle of cash and the vehicle at gunpoint. The vehicle was recovered in Prince George's County.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

GRANDVIEW AVE., 11400 block, 7 p.m. May 6. A male sexually assaulted a woman at a business at which both are employed.

PARKLAND AND GRENOBLE DRIVES, 3:25 p.m. May 6. A man stopped his car near a girl walking a dog. After getting out of the vehicle and engaging her in conversation, he turned around and urinated on the grassy median, got back in the vehicle and drove away.

WHEATON AREA, May 10. A girl was sexually assaulted in her home by a family member.

ASSAULTS

CONNECTICUT AVE., 13800 block, May 6. After a dispute about a collision that had just occurred, a female motorist drove her vehicle at a male motorist. A woman was arrested.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 2300 block, May 9. A man followed a male patron out of a restaurant and attacked him. During the assault, a gun discharged. No injuries were reported.

ROBBERIES

CONNECTICUT AVE., 13700 block, 5 p.m. May 8. A group of males followed a male, knocked him down and robbed him of property. The assailants have been identified.

ENNALLS AND GRANDVIEW AVENUES, 11:20 p.m. May 9. A man standing in an alley outside a restaurant asked a customer for money. When the customer told him to go away, the man pulled up his shirt and exposed a BB gun in his waistband. The customer charged the man, knocked him down and grabbed the weapon. A man was arrested.

WELLER RD., 3300 block, 11:45 p.m. May 10. Three male youths in a school parking lot threatened a female motorist with a piece of wood, took property from her purse and fled.

ARCTIC AVE., 13800 block, BALTIMORE RD., 2500 block, DOWLAIS DR., 13500 block, FARTHING DR., 3300 block, FELDON ST., 12400 block, GLASGOW DR., 4600 block, GOODHILL RD., 13000 block, LIONEL LANE, 13700 block, MYER TERR., 14700 block, PACIFIC AVE., 13000 block, and PENROSE ST., 12900 block, May 4 to 10. Cash, purses, wallets, tools and books were among property stolen from 12 vehicles, some of which were entered by force.

BAILEY'S LANE, 15500 block, 2:50 a.m. May 4. Two Global Positioning System devices and a pair of sunglasses were among property stolen from three vehicles entered by force.

GEORGIA AVE., 14300 block, May 8 to 9. Property was stolen from a rehabilitation facility.

WINEXBURG MANOR DR., 5 to 6:45 p.m. May 11. Property was stolen from a residence.

PICKERING CT., May 4 to 5. A digital music player, a cellphone, several CDs and two Global Positioning System devices were among property stolen from two vehicles, one of them entered by force. In a third incident, nothing was reported missing from a vehicle entered by force.

KENDRICK PL., 100 block, 9:45 p.m. May 9. During an argument between residents at an apartment complex, a person sustained a knife wound. A person was arrested.

QUINCE ORCHARD BLVD., 800 block, 3 p.m. May 11. Three males knocked a man to the ground, kicked him several times and robbed him of property.

SNOUFFER SCHOOL RD., 8000 block, 9:25 a.m. May 11. Two men got out of a dark-blue four-door vehicle in a parking lot at a check-cashing business and robbed a woman of property after threatening her with a blunt object pressed against her back. The assailants fled in the vehicle driven by a male accomplice.

DIAMOND AVE. W., 400 block, May 1 to 4. Property was stolen from an apartment complex community room entered by force.

FIREHOUSE LANE, 600 block, 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 5. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

SHARPSTEAD LANE, 100 block, 9 p.m. May 6 to 1:30 p.m. May 7. Two Global Positioning System devices, a power cord and a dashboard mount were stolen from two vehicles entered by force.

WATKINS MILL PL., 10100 block, 1 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. May 7. Property was stolen from a residence. An acquaintance of an occupant is suspected.

FARRAGUT AVE., 1600 block, 2 to 2:10 a.m. May 12. A man, 54, of no fixed address, was charged with second-degree burglary and theft in connection with an incident at this location.

GRAND OAK WAY, 1000 block, 11:20 a.m. May 15. Several pieces of jewelry were stolen from a residence.

HUNGERFORD DR., 500 block, 4:20 p.m. May 12 to 6:45 a.m. May 13. Cash was stolen from a business entered by using a key to a rear door.

LENMORE DR., 700 block, midnight to 6 a.m. May 6. Cash, a knife, several DVDs, three quarts of oil, a handicap placard, and a parking permit were stolen from a vehicle.

LOFSTRAND LANE, 600 block, 5 p.m. May 4 to 10 a.m. May 8. A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.

MCAULIFFE DR., 1700 block, 9 p.m. May 15 to 9 a.m. May 17. A digital music player, four CDs, a cellphone charger, and a backpack containing medication and keys were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 1700 block, 9 p.m. May 11 to 10:13 a.m. May 12. Two cameras and two lenses were stolen from a display case at a retail store.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 1700 block, 4:45 to 5:15 p.m. May 14. Cash was stolen from a wallet in a hotel room.

SEVEN LOCKS RD., 1100 block, 11:55 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. May 13. A watch and a car key were stolen from a locker.
