ASSAULTS

CRAWFORD AVE., 5700 block, 12:04 p.m. May 12. A man grabbed a pedestrian by her shirt and tried to pull her toward him. When a passerby yelled, the assailant fled.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 200 block, 9:44 p.m. May 18. A man verbally harassed several people at a Metro station, then pulled out a knife and tried to stab a person who had threatened to call police. A man was arrested at the scene.

ROBBERIES

SHADY GROVE RD., 15000 block, 4:45 p.m. May 11. A man followed a female walking to her vehicle and tried to get into the vehicle with her. She was able to get inside and lock the doors, and the assailant fled when an acquaintance of the motorist's approached.

SOMERVILLE DR., 15900 block, 1:32 p.m. May 12. A male gave two people a ride to the Shady Grove Metro station. Upon arrival, he was ordered from the Chrysler LeBaron at gunpoint. The two people stole the car; they were later arrested.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BALTIMORE RD., 2100 block, 2:05 to 2:17 a.m. May 16. Property was stolen from a high school entered by force. A person was arrested.

BEALL CREEK DR., 13200 block, May 11 to 12. Credit cards were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

BONNIE DALE DR., 13400 block, May 11 to 12. A purse was stolen from a vehicle entered by force.

CARMELITA DR., 10000 block, May 18 to 19. A purse was stolen from a vehicle entered by force.
