S LaRon Landry was the only Washington Redskin still unaccounted for during this week's round of four organized team activities. LB London Fletcher and FB Mike Sellers -- who declined comment as they left the field at Redskins Park yesterday -- returned to work out ea rlier this week after missing Monday and Tuesday.
"I think each one of those guys, they have their plan," Coach Jim Zorn said. "They're working their plan. Talking to London, he planned on being back. He planned on participating. He's working his plan. I think Mike's doing the same thing.
"The thing I was excited about both those guys just got right into it and started practicing hard. They've got a lot of recall themselves."
Landry, though, is not here, and Zorn said he has not been able to reach the third-year player by telephone or text message.
"I think it's disappointing to his teammates as well," Zorn said. "But he's going to be ready. I fully expect him to be ready in training camp and go hard and have a great year. I'm not as concerned about him missing as just being a part of what his teammates are doing and the kind of stuff we're trying to implement here. He's going to be set back a little bit because of maybe a new concept here or there, but he's a tremendous athlete, and I think he'll be a good teammate."
The Redskins' last OTAs will be next Monday through Thursday.
-- THRASH INJURED: Veteran WR James Thrash has not participated in workouts. Zorn said Thrash, 34, is trying to overcome a bulging disc in his neck, and it's possible the injury could end Thrash's career after a dozen NFL seasons.
"He's come along, and then he's had setbacks once he's really started the rigors of the offseason program," Zorn said. "He's backed off again, and he's trying to get that all together. He's as disappointed as anybody. I don't know where it's going to end up yet. But he certainly is good enough for us to wait and see."
Rosters must be at 80 players when training camp starts July 30. A decision on Thrash's future will almost certainly come before then.
"I'm waiting on his neck," Zorn said. "Based on how that feels, he's going to have to make a decision here one way or the other. I want to be patient with that, because he's a tremendous teammate, he means a lot to this organization, and a lot to all of us, and I think it's worth it to all of us."
Thrash, who has played five seasons with the Redskins, has caught only nine balls in each of the last two years.
-- OPEN PRACTICES: The Redskins will have training camp practices open to the public on July 30 and 31 and Aug. 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 at Redskins Park. Fan Appreciation Day wil be Aug. 8.
