Athletics: OF Chris Denorfia was recalled from Class AAA Sacramento before last night's game against Minnesota. Oakland sent IF Gregorio Petit to Sacramento to make room.
Brewers: OF Mike Cameron was suspended for two games after he made contact with an umpire Saturday. The suspension was scheduled to begin last night, but Cameron filed an appeal and will be allowed to play until it is heard.
Indians: Reliever Joe Smith was activated from the 15-day disabled list. Cleveland optioned LHP Tony Sipp to Class AAA Columbus.
Mets: Reliever J.J. Putz has undergone surgery to remove a bone spur and fragments of bone from his right elbow. The team hopes Putz can return in 10 to 12 weeks.
Phillies: Closer Brad Lidge has gone on the 15-day DL because of a sprained right knee. The move was announced before last night's game against the Mets and was retroactive to Sunday.
Rangers: Texas has acquired Jason Grilli from the Rockies and recalled Guillermo Moscoso from Class AAA Oklahoma City. Brandon McCarthy went on the 15-day DL because of a stress fracture in his right shoulder blade, and Kris Benson was sent outright to Oklahoma City.
Rays: Reliever Jorge Julio has agreed to terms on a minor league contract. Julio will report to Class AAA Durham today.
White Sox: Placed RHP Bartolo Colón on the 15-day DL with inflammation in his left knee and purchased the contract of LHP Aaron Poreda from Class AA Birmingham.
