3 Wounded in NE Drive-By Shooting

Two men and a woman were wounded in a drive-by shooting in Northeast Washington late Saturday, D.C. police said.

The victims were in the 500 block of Edgewood Street NE about 11:15 p.m., police said, when they were shot from a car that then drove off. The victims were described as a 21-year-old man, an 18-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, who were taken to hospitals, police said. Police did not identify them because they are considered witnesses. Authorities could not say whether the injuries were life-threatening.

State Police Out in Force Through Today

A two-day Virginia State Police highway enforcement blitz continues today. Troopers will be visible along interstates 295, 85 and 77 to remind motorists to obey safety regulations.

2 Charged in Lorton Hotel Drug Bust

Federal agents have seized 10 pounds of methamphetamine at a Lorton hotel. According to court records, agents arranged to buy the drug with the help of a jailhouse informant whose cellmate claimed to belong to a Mexican drug trafficking organization.
