Butler Shares His Draft Philosophy

"It's important to get everybody back healthy," [Caron] Butler said at his free basketball camp for about 110 kids at Trinity College in Northeast. Butler said he hasn't monitored the draft too closely, but that he is confident that the Wizards can find a good player -- either with the fifth pick or the veteran player they get for the fifth pick. He added that the Wizards shouldn't worry about trying to address a need if they keep the pick: "You go for the best players. One of the things I saw in Miami is we could've drafted for a position and we drafted the best player at the time and that was Dwyane Wade at the fifth pick and look what he's become."

FedEx Field Not Impacted

Should [FedEx CEO and president Fred] Smith buy the Rams, he would have to sell his 10 percent stake in the Washington Redskins, a share worth an estimated $150 million, to be in accordance with NFL rules. But the question has been asked in the blogosphere as to whether that would impact the naming rights of the Redskins' stadium. I spoke with some lawyers and also asked the NFL for comment as to whether they would consider it a conflict of interest for someone to own the majority stake in one NFL franchise while his company held the naming rights to another team's stadium. The NFL said, purely hypothetically, it is not an issue.
