Fire broke out last night on the roof of a Georgetown restaurant, prompting evacuation of the premises, and disrupting Saturday night traffic north of Wisconsin Avenue and M Street NW.

The fire w as reported around 9:30 p.m. atop Paolo's restaurant in the 1300 block of Wisconsin Avenue. Firefighters knocked it down quickly and no injuries reported. But firefighting efforts and equipment shut down Wisconsin Avenue for a time, and some of the delays extended to M Street, a block or two south of the fire scene.
