-- Read the Loudoun County Master Gardeners' quarterly newsletter, the Trumpet Vine, at http://www.loudouncountymastergardeners.org. Subscribers get a weekly e-mail report on tasks at the demonstration garden that they can apply to their own plots.

-- The Web sites of the Virginia Cooperative Extension, http://www.ext.vt.edu, and the University of Maryland's Home and Garden Information Center, http://www.hgic.umd.edu, give details on extension services in each county, including plant clinics and help by telephone or e-mail.

-- U-Md. this year launched a site called Grow It Eat It (http://www.growit.umd.edu) that offers advice and seeks to create a statewide network of gardeners to share knowledge, pictures and recipes.

-- In the District, Master Gardeners hold a plant clinic at the H Street FreshFarm Market (625 H St. NE) the third Saturday of the month, from 9 a.m. to noon. Residents with questions can also contact Sandy Farber Bandier, the city's environmental extension agent, at 202-274-7166 or sfarber@udc.edu.
