Information Sought on Missing Bowie Woman
Metro police are looking for a Bowie woman who has been missing since her son dropped her off at the New Carrollton Metrorail station last Thursday.
Thelma Thomas, 64, had been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and dementia, Metro spokeswoman Angela Gates said. Thomas's son told authorities that he last saw her at the station about 8:30 a.m. June 25. Another son was supposed to pick up Thomas in Brooklyn, N.Y., but she did not arrive on the bus on which she was expected.
Thomas is 5-foot-4 and weighs between 140 and 150 pounds. On Thursday, she wore a green shirt with stripes, bluejeans and black shoes. According to a news release, the purse she carried had flowers on it. Thomas also uses the names Thelma Williams and Carmen Williams.
Anyone who might have seen her is asked to call 202-962-2121.

Man Struck, Killed by Metro Train
A man was struck and killed by a Red Line train at 4:10 p.m. yesterday at the Forest Glen Metro station, Metro officials said. Preliminary investigation indicated he was on the tracks intentionally, officials said.
The eight-car train was headed to downtown Washington in the direction of Shady Grove.
Delays of at least 30 minutes were expected to last through the evening rush hour, especially in the area of the incident. Even before the incident, officials were advising Red Line riders to add a half-hour to their normal travel times because of continuing investigation into last Monday's crash outside the Fort Totten station.
