Celebrate the Fourth of July at any of the following events:
Fireworks at the Greenbelt Independence Day Celebration will begin about 9 p.m. and will be preceded by a children's craft tent from 3 to 6 p.m., a performance by the Greenbelt Concert Band at 6:15 and the Community Drum Circle from 7:30 to 9. Bowie will host its Fourth of July Celebration at Allen Pond Park from 3 to 10:30 p.m. at 3300 Northview Dr. The free event will include fireworks, music and other entertainment. The Bowie Baysox also will have the Baysox Independence Day BBQ tomorrow, with gates opening at 5 p.m. A picnic will precede the game against the Akron Aeros, which starts at 6:05 p.m. Fireworks will follow the game. The Laurel 4th of July Celebration will include a parade, antique and classic cars, a horseshoe contest, children's activities for age 12 and younger and fireworks from the lake. The public is invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets for the College Park Fourth of July Celebration. Concessions open at 5 p.m., entertainment begins at 7 p.m., and the fireworks start around 9 p.m. The rain date is Sunday. National Harbor will begin the weekend with a Fireworks Display and Outdoor Festival at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow.
