Much of the reporting on the end of the recount in the Minnesota Senate race has mentioned that the residents of that state had been partially disenfranchised by not having two senators. While I am happy that this has been resolved, I hope that somewhere in this discussion there will be some note of the fact that D.C. residents are totally disenfranchised in the House and Senate.
I hope that Sen.-elect Al Franken as well as the soon-to-be fully represented citizens of Minnesota will think about the total disenfranchisement of their fellow citizens.
