Which Teams Had the Best Offseason?
It was an offseason of transition in Philadelphia with the departures of Brian Dawkins, Tra Thomas and L.J. Smith. But the Eagles have restocked their offensive line with the additions of Jason Peters and Stacy Andrews. They signed a potential replacement for Dawkins in free agent safety Sean Jones, and they drafted a top receiving threat in Jeremy Maclin and a complementary runner to go with Brian Westbrook in LeSean McCoy. They'll enter the season as one of the favorites in the NFC.

This is a good move if [Elijah] Dukes takes it as a challenge and works hard. And keeps his nose clean. I would've DFA'd either [Ronnie] Belliard or [Austin] Kearns, largely because I don't see another team putting either one on their 25-man roster. . . . [Josh] Willingham and [Nick] Johnson will go, it's just a question of what the Nats get in return. I would not favor keeping either one because "you couldn't get enough" -- get what you can, and move on. [Adam] Dunn, I would keep unless I got a plus-plus deal for him. Perhaps they are keeping Kearns to keep Dunn happy.
