If you want to see fireworks but don't want to brave the Mall, here are displays in Maryland and Virginia. All events are on Saturday and free unless otherwise noted.
Maryland
ANNAPOLIS A parade starts at 6 p.m., followed by a performance by the U.S. Naval Academy Band and fireworks over the harbor. Annapolis Harbor, 1 Dock St., Annapolis. 410-263-1183 or 410-266-5857.
BALTIMORE Music by Reverb, an a cappella group, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Electric Brigade performs before and during the fireworks, which begin at 9:30 p.m. Inner Harbor, Pratt and Light streets, Baltimore. 877-225-8466.
