The Week of July 10

Contrary to Nas's 2006 album, "Hip Hop Is Dead," the musical genre is alive and well -- proven annually with the always popular Rock the Bells. Nas will headline the festival as it rolls into Merriweather Post Pavilion on July 12 at noon with Damian Marley, the Roots, Common, Big Boi and a long list of smaller bands. The Week of July 17

Screen on the Green is back! The film series on the Mall almost didn't happen this year, but HBO, Comcast and the Trust for the National Mall came together to save the series, which begins July 20 at sunset with "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." The Week of July 24

If watching the recent run by the U.S. men's soccer team at the Confederations Cup got you interested in the sport, head to Baltimore on July 24 at 8 p.m. There you find Chelsea FC and AC Milan competing as part of the World Football Challenge. It will be a rare opportunity for soccer (er, football) fans to see these exceptional teams.
