It's official: Al Franken is coming to Washington, and the Land of 10,000 Lakes will once again be the land of two senators. But when the former "Saturday Night Live" comedian finally takes his seat, he'll find that he's not the delegation's only jokester. Below, the com edic stylings of his fellow Minnesotan, Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

On her state's drawn-out election:

I am . . . both the junior and the senior senator from Minnesota. So I do bring you greetings from our state, where, in the words of our poet laureate, Garrison Keillor, the women are strong, the men are good-looking, and all the recounts are above average.

-- American Constitution Society convention, June 19

On committee assignments:

Somehow I got placed on the subcommittee on oceans. I'm from Minnesota, and I was placed on the subcommittee on oceans! It's like being from Illinois, Rahm Emanuel and being placed on ethics.

-- Washington Press Club Foundation dinner, Feb. 4

On politics:

I think in the end I won [my Senate seat] because deep down I know exactly who I am -- I am a woman whose hair will never have the bounce and fluff of Rod Blagojevich's.

-- Washington Press Club Foundation dinner, Feb. 4

On her husband, who she says is the first man to be consistently involved in the Senate Spouses organization:

I knew things were getting out of hand when [Missouri Sen.] Claire McCaskill and I were driving out of the Senate one day and we looked out the window and we see my husband. And he's carrying this pink box. . . . We called him over, and it's a baby present. I said, "What are you doing?" He said, "Well, I'm here for a Senate Spouse event. It's Jim Webb's wife's baby shower." At that moment I thought, "This was a great victory for women."
