An article in the July 2 Southern Maryland Extra incorrectly said that a $4.5 billion merger between Constellation Energy and the French energy giant EDF would create UniStar Nuclear Energy. UniStar was formed in 2007 to develop nuclear projects. The proposed merger would allow EDF to buy nearly a half-interest in the existing nuclear plants owned by Constellation.
