How they met: John first noticed Diana in their eighth-grade shop class but was too shy to approach her. They went on their first date as high school sophomores at Hayfield Secondary School in Fairfax.
The proposal: On the first night of a vacation in St. Lucia, John proposed to Diana on the balcony of their oceanfront suite at sunset.
Most original aspect of the wedding: Diana's parents immigrated from Albania, so the couple celebrated her heritage with Albanian music and dancing.
What makes them special: "We've been through a lot individually and as a couple. We've never let it pull us apart. We both know what we want in life and we support each other along the way."
The honeymoon: A two-week trip to Maui and Oahu, Hawaii.
