10 Chechen Police Killed in Ingushetia

Rebel gunmen ambushed a Chechen police convoy in the Russian region of Ingushetia on Saturday, killing 10 officers in one of the deadliest recent attacks in the volatile Caucasus.

The police were in neighboring Ingushetia to conduct a joint operation against rebels, a security official said.

Kashmir Court Orders Bodies Exhumed: The high court in Indian-administered Kashmir told police to exhume the bodies of two women whose alleged rape and murder by Indian security forces last month had sparked anti-India protests.

AU 'Disdain' in Bashir Case Condemned: The African Union's lack of cooperation with a war-crimes warrant against Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir shows a "disdain" for victims, Amnesty International said. The African Union had again urged the United Nations on Friday to delay the case.
