A Hands-On Experience At This Year's Sharkfest
The Calvert Marine Museum is hosting Sharkfest this weekend. A highlight of this year's event is the "SharkPoole," in which Doug Poole and staff members will show off touchable sharks at four stations in a 3,000-gallon tank. Sharks four to nine feet long will be joined by skates, horseshoe crabs and other aquatic animals. Other attractions will include a skeleton of a megalodon (a giant prehistoric shark), a slide show, face painting, fossils, crafts and mural painting. 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday. The Navy Goes Country In Chesapeake Beach
The U.S. Navy's country band, Country Current, will share favorite songs of presidents and ambassadors at this evening's performance in the Bay Breeze concert series. St. Clement's Museum Hosts Jazz, Seafood Fest
The largest fundraising event of the St. Clement's Island Museum will offer seafood and musical fare from Maryland jazz artists this weekend. The lineup includes saxophonists Art Sherrod Jr. and Jaared and vocalist Ruby Hayes. Tickets cover parking, museum admission and an optional boat ride to St. Clement's Island to view a replica of the Blackistone Lighthouse, noon-5 p.m., subject to change in case of bad weather.
