Alexandria Legacies Oral History Program needs volunteers to collect oral histories of longtime Alexandria residents. A training session is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon July 18 at the Alexandria Archaeology Museum. Northern Virginia Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program needs advocates to help residents of Alexandria and Arlington nursing homes and assisted-living facilities. Must commit to four hours a week for one year. Visits are between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. weekdays. Rebuilding Together Alexandria needs volunteers to help with general repairs for a house in disrepair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. 703-836-1021.
