Fairfax County

The following incidents were reported by the Animal Control section of the Fairfax County police department. For information, call 703-246-2253.

Spay and Neuter Services

OX RD., 4500 block. The Fairfax County Animal Shelter will spay or neuter for free the first 100 cats and kittens adopted from the shelter this month. Cats and kittens available for adoption will be showcased this weekend and next. Adoption fees and processes vary.

Fairfax City

No incidents were reported by the Animal Control section of the Fairfax City police department. For information, call 703-385-7924 or visit http://www.fairfaxva.gov and click on "animals" under "list of services."

Vienna

The following incidents were reported by the Vienna police department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

Bird Freed

NINOVAN RD. SE, 700 block, 9:05 a.m. June 26. A bird, trapped inside a home, was captured by an animal control officer and returned to the wild.

Stray Dog Rescued

ROSS DR. SW, 100 block, 6:35 p.m. June 28. A stray dog was taken to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter to await retrieval by its owner.
