Prince George's County Animal Shelter, 8311 D'Arcy Rd. in Forestville, makes animals available for adoption by residents of the county and other jurisdictions. Adoptable animals, as well as lost pets, can be seen on the shelter's Web site. Go to http://www.goprincegeorgescounty.com and click on Government, then the Department & Agency Index drop-down menu and then Animal Management. The shelter's viewing and adoption hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays. The shelter is closed Thursdays, Sundays and holidays. Its number is 301-499-8300.
