Police Probing Death In Adams Morgan

D.C. police are investigating the death of an elderly man found in his apartment in Adams Morgan on Tuesday morning.

About 9:30 a.m., police discovered Lester Jackson, 70, in his apartment in the 1800 block of Harvard Street NW. An autopsy showed that Jackson died from blunt force trauma, authorities said.

Chillum Man Charged In Fatal Shooting

Prince George's County police arrested a Chillum man Tuesday in connection with a fatal shooting in Landover Hills last month, authorities said.

Jerome D. Proctor, 25, is charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of Sean E. Smith, 25, of Landover Hills, authorities said. Smith was found with a fatal gunshot wound June 18 in the 4100 block of 70th Avenue in Landover Hills. Police have said the shooting stemmed from a personal dispute.
