An aide to D.C. Council member Jack Evans and active member of the local Democratic Party has been missing since the weekend.
Friends said Desi Deschaine, Evans's communications director, attended a boating party in Baltimore over the weekend. Baltimore police, who are investigating his disappearance, said the 30-year-old was reported missing late Sunday night and was last seen near the Harbor Lighthouse Marina earlier that day. Baltimore police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said investigators are canvassing the area where Deschaine was last spotted. The aide's parents arrived in the area last night, friends said.
"We have no new information," Evans (D-Ward 2) said. "We are hoping for the best and bracing for the worst."
Deschaine graduated from Catholic University in 2001.
