Randall Terry has been involved in the movement to stop abortion since the early 1980s.
1973: Roe v. Wade ruling legalizes abortion nationwide.
1986: Terry founds Operation Rescue.
1988: Thousands arrested in Operation Rescue clinic blockades in more than two dozen cities.
1991: Thousands arrested in Operation Rescue's "Summer of Mercy" in Wichita, Kan.
1994: Congress makes it a federal crime to block clinic entrances.
1998: Terry declares bankruptcy, owing $1.6 million from lawsuits. Runs unsuccessfully for Congress in New York.
2000: Terry divorces first wife, Cynthia. Receives public reprimand from his longtime evangelical pastor.
2001: Terry marries his second wife, Andrea.
2003: Terry becomes a spokesman for Terri Schiavo's parents.
2004: Terry's adopted son, Jamiel, comes out as gay.
2006: Terry loses a run for a Florida state Senate seat. Converts to Catholicism.
2008: Terry moves to Northern Virginia to mount a comeback.
2009: Terry launches Operation Rescue Insurrecta Nex.
