During our online chat (most Mondays at 2 p.m.), you ask and we answer your travel questions -- mostly. Here's one we couldn't get to last week.
I'm off to Austin in August. Any recommendations for must-sees?
Bats, bands and Barton Springs, baby. To see North America's largest urban bat colony, visit the Congress Avenue Bridge at twilight, when 1.5 million of the flying mammals leave the roost. For the best music venues, avoid overhyped Sixth Street and head to the Warehouse District, dotted with restaurants, bars and concert halls.
And Barton Springs, the city's beloved spring-fed swimming hole, is a prime gathering spot for Austinites and visitors alike. For more to see and do: Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau, http://www.austintexas.org.
