GETTING THERE
US Airways, United and AirTran Airways have nonstop flights from Washington area airports to Portland, Maine. Round-trip fares start at about $149. Bayside is about a two-hour drive from the Portland International Jetport.
WHERE TO STAY

Weekly rates from $850 (sleeps four) to $3,750 (sleeps nine). Many cottages are offering discounts from those rates, and some owners will rent for long weekends. Rates from $75 to $500 a night.
