Busch Gardens Williamsburg is about 140 miles from the Capital Beltway. To get there, take Interstate 95 south for about 80 miles, then I-295 south for 13 miles and I-64 east for 43 miles to Exit 243A.

Outside Busch Gardens:

Buon Amici Ristorante (5201 Center St., 757-220-8188, http://www.buonamiciwilliamsburg.com). A well-regarded pizzeria and Italian restaurant. Pizzas are $10-$20. Lunch entrees $9.50-$16, dinner $18-$30.
In Busch Gardens:
Das Festhaus, A 2,000-seat restaurant in the Germany section. You can buy a meal plan online in advance; $20 includes two entrees, two sides or desserts, and four nonalcoholic drinks.
The Behind the Scenes roller coaster tour is offered all summer on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 a.m. Tours are limited to 16, reservations must be made a day in advance and all patrons must be 14 or older. Tickets are $74.95, which includes a commemorative CD of photos, a parking pass, exclusive ride time on some coasters and, for others, front-of-line passes for later in the day. Note that the tour fee does not include park admission, required if you plan to stay beyond the tour. Adult admission is $59.95. Hours of operation vary.
