Today's game to watch:

Orioles at Red Sox, 7 p.m. (MASN)

PERSONNEL DEPT.

Astros: Placed 1B Lance Berkman on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left calf and recalled IF Edwin Maysonet from Class AAA Round Rock.

Blue Jays: Designated OF David Dellucci for assignment and recalled utility man Joe Inglett from Class AAA Las Vegas. Also announced that RHP Dustin McGowan had surgery to repair damaged cartilage in his right knee on July 9.

Braves: Recalled 2B Kelly Johnson from Class AAA Gwinnett and optioned IF Brooks Conrad to Gwinnett.

Cardinals: Optioned RHP P.J. Walters to Class AAA Memphis to make room for SS Julio Lugo.

Phillies: Placed LHP J.C. Romero (strained left forearm) and RHP Chad Durbin (strained back) on the DL and recalled RHP Tyler Walker and RHP Andrew Carpenter from Class AAA Lehigh Valley.

Royals: OF José Guillén is headed to the 15-day DL after spraining his right knee while putting on his shin guard on Wednesday. OF Mitch Maier will be recalled from Class AAA Omaha.

Yankees: RHP Chien-Ming Wang has sought a second opinion on his injured pitching shoulder, and it's uncertain when he might return to the mound. Wang went on the 15-day DL July 5 with a strained shoulder.
