D.C. police have arrested the robbery suspect who barricaded himself inside of a Southeast Washington residence for more than an hour, leading police to block off several streets during the standoff.

The man, whom police did not identify, fled into a residence shortly after 11 a.m. and was arrested about 12:30 p.m., said police spokesman Quintin Peterson. The barricade was possibly linked to an earlier robbery in the 5100 block of E Street SE.

The man was by himself and did not hold any hostages, police said. The incident closed several streets in the area, between the 4600 and 4800 blocks of G Street, and police and fire vehicles were on the scene.
