Projects Proposed

1. Mixed-use development. Metro Group Joint Venture, Silver Spring. A preliminary plan of subdivision for a commercial project including 179,050 square feet of office space and 23,900 square feet of retail, on the site of a small retail center, on 1.44 acres in the northeast quadrant of East West Highway and Colesville Road, Silver Spring. 2. Mixed-use development. Woodfield Investments, Chevy Chase. A site plan for 300 residential units and 12,000 square feet of retail on 6.7 acres on Goshen Road at Girard Street, the Summit Shopping Center, Gaithersburg. (SDP-09002)

3. Office building. Washington Property Company, Bethesda. A site plan for a 109,200 square foot office on 5.42 acres located at 4 Research Pl., Rockville. (STP2009-00007)

4. Single-family and townhouse lots. Hanson family, North Potomac. A rezoning request for a 170-acre farm. The family seeks a change from one unit per two acres to a "planned community" of 187 units in a mix of single-family and townhouse lots at 14100 Quince Orchard Road off Dufief Mill Road, North Potomac. 5. Hospital. Adventist Healthcare, Rockville, revised its medical campus plan for a first phase of medical office space and a hospital later. Adventist now proposes a 235,400-square-foot hospital, the first portion of the plan to be developed. The hospital would be on 34.7 acres in the southwest quadrant of Interstate 270 and Route 121, Clarksburg. (8-20060350)

6. Multi-family units. Keystone Real Estate Investments, Gaithersburg. A site plan to redevelop "executive garden apartments" as 263 multi-family units on 3.6 acres at S. Frederick Avenue and George Street area, Gaithersburg. (SDP-08-005)

7. Mixed-use development. The Michael. A project plan application for a mix of residential apartments and condominium units, office and retail space on 5.1 acres in the block bordered by Fenton, Thayer and Silver Spring avenues and Mayor Lane, off Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring. (9-20070010)

8. Restaurant. Davco Restaurants, Crofton. A preliminary plan of subdivision that will allow a Wendy's restaurant at Randolph Road and Vital Way on .54 acre, Silver Spring. (1-2002056A)

9. Gas station. IO Limited Partnership, Derwood. A special exception was approved by the Board of Appeals for a gas station on 1.27 acres at Henderson Corner and Ridge roads, Germantown. (S-2743)

10. Clubhouse expansion. The Planning Board approved a record plat of subdivision that will allow the expansion of the clubhouse at Norbeck Country Club. The 197-acre club is on the west side of Cashell Road, opposite Hines Road, Olney. (2-20090460)

Permits Issued

11. Parking garage. Montgomery College, Rockville. A building permit for a $18.6 million parking garage at 901 Jesup Blair Dr., Silver Spring.
