Virginia State Police have reopened all lanes of southbound I-95 near Lorton, after a box truck overturned this morning and shut two southbound lanes.
Police spokeswoman Deborah Cox said the southbound lanes were cleared and open to traffic by 11:15 a.m. The driver of the box truck, whose vehicle left the highway and overturned near the left shoulder, was charged with reckless driving, Cox said. The driver was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the mishap, which occurred around 9 a.m.
The truck, carrying produce, overturned around 9 a.m. this morning and the vehicle's fuel tank ruptured, causing police to close two southbound lanes. Cox said the incident occurred when the driver, traveling in the right lane, appeared to lose control of the vehicle and struck the jersey wall The impact caused the truck to veer left, across three lanes, and into the wall before overturning.
No other vehicles were involved, Cox said.
