What: CONCACAF Champions League preliminary round, second leg.

Where: Cuscatlan Stadium, San Salvador.

When: 10 p.m.

TV: Fox Soccer Channel.

Radio: WZAA (1050 AM), English; WXTR (730 AM), Spanish.

Outlook: After settling for a 1-1 tie at RFK Stadium last week in the opener of the two-game series, United has three avenues to advance: win in regulation or overtime; score at least two goals as part of a draw in regulation; play to a 1-1 deadlock and, after a scoreless overtime, win in a penalty kick tiebreaker. The series survivor will advance to the group stage of the 24-team tournament, which serves as the championship for clubs from North and Central America and the Caribbean. United has not fared well in official competitions that have included trips to Mexico and Central America -- a 1-7-1 record with seven goals scored and 21 conceded. The only victory was a 4-1 decision against Olimpia (Honduras) in the quarterfinals of the 2007 Champions Cup, the predecessor to the current tournament. F Luciano Emilio is expected to start after coming off the bench in the second half Saturday and scoring two goals in a 4-3 MLS loss at Houston. MF Rodney Wallace is almost certain to return to the lineup after serving a yellow card suspension over the weekend. Coach Tom Soehn also rested veteran MFs Ben Olsen and Christian Gómez in the second half of the Houston game to prepare them for Firpo.
