MOUNT VERNON PL., 500 block, 12:05 p.m. July 21. Several people threatened an acquaintance with a handgun.

ROBBERIES

BOILING BROOK PKWY., 4700 block, 10:50 p.m. July 27. Two males demanded property from a pedestrian at knifepoint, then fled empty-handed.

TWEED ST., 1700 block, 2:55 a.m. July 27. Three males entered a residence and demanded property from an occupant, who fled the premises. The occupant said he saw the intruders speed away in two vehicles.

TWINBROOK PKWY., 700 block, July 27. Four men in a black vehicle with tinted windows stopped near a pedestrian and robbed him of property at gunpoint.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

COVE LANE, 14000 block, July 22 to 8:05 a.m. July 23. Two seats were stolen from a 1999 Acura Integra entered by force.

CUTTERS LANE, 10300 block, 1 to 5:30 p.m. July 21. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

EDMONSTON DR. W., 300 block, July 28. A residence was entered. Police said that it was a domestic incident.

FALLSGROVE DR., 300 block, 11:33 p.m. July 25. Someone tried to break into an occupied residence by kicking in the front door. Nothing was reported missing.

PINEY BRANCH RD., 8200 block, 1:20 a.m. July 26. A man in a restaurant bar area cut a man's throat with a knife. A 30-year-old Hyattsville man was arrested.

ROBBERIES

ELLSWORTH DR., 900 block, 6:14 p.m. July 24. A male in a theater got into a verbal altercation with a male, took property and fled. A male was arrested in connection with the incident.

GEORGIA AVE., 8500 block, 2:04 a.m. July 26. A man wielding a sharp object robbed a man of property.

SLIGO AVE., 700 block, 10:46 p.m. July 25. A man attacked a woman waiting for an elevator and fled with her purse.

SECOND AVE., 12:30 a.m. July 22. A man robbed a male pedestrian of property at gunpoint.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BLACKTHORN ST., 3900 block, July 24. A man opened the trunk of a vehicle, removed a laptop computer and clothing and fled empty-handed when confronted by a passerby.

BURDETTE RD., 8300 block, July 22. Property was stolen from a residence.

CHATSWORTH LANE, 5900 block, July 22 to 23. A GPS device, a camera, a purse and a digital music player were stolen from a vehicle entered by force.

ELLINGSON DR., 8000 block, July 21 to 26. Property was stolen from garages at two residences.

KENILWORTH AVE., 10900 block, July 20 to 21. Property was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

MELROSE ST. E., 100 block, July 24 to 25. Property was stolen from a residence.

SANGAMORE RD. N., 4600 block, 3:15 a.m. July 25. Property was stolen from a pet shop entered by force.

SHELTON ST., 9200 block, July 22. Property was taken from a vehicle. A Bethesda man, 19, was arrested.

TILDEN LANE, 6000 block, July 24. A residence was entered. Five male teenagers, all of Bethesda, were arrested.

WESTBROOK LANE, 4400 block, July 23. Property was stolen from a residence.

WEYMOUTH ST., 10500 block, July 23 to 24. A phone, a watch and CDs were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

WILSON LANE, 6300 block, 12:39 a.m. July 27. A middle school was entered through an unlocked door. Two youths were arrested.

ASSAULTS

OUTLET DR., 13800 block, 1:17 p.m. July 26. One of two people involved in altercation in a restaurant parking lot was shot. A passerby also was shot.

QUEBEC TERR., 1000 block, 10:37 p.m. July 25. Four males in a parking lot demanded cash from a man at gunpoint. When he refused, they knocked him to the ground and robbed him of property from his pockets. The victim also was shot in the head with a BB gun.

ROBBERIES

CASTLE BLVD., 13900 block, 1:40 p.m. July 27. A man who thought he was visiting the apartment of a friend was robbed of property by two men in a nearby apartment who responded to his knock on the door. An investigation is continuing.

OLD COLUMBIA PIKE, 13800 block, 5:40 a.m. July 22. Three men robbed a convenience store of cash at gunpoint. Two of the men were arrested that day by police with a K9 unit. The third man was arrested a few days later.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

COLGATE WAY, 13700 block, 11 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. July 22. Property was stolen from a residence.

ELLSWORTH DR., WAYNE AVE., COLESVILLE RD., CAMERON AND SPRING STREETS AND EAST WEST HWY., July 20 to 24. Nine GPS devices were among items stolen during 11 thefts from vehicles in garages and lots in the central business district. Ten of the vehicles were entered by force.

FAIRDALE RD., 14300 block, 11:40 a.m. July 21. An attempt was made to break into an occupied residence. Nothing was reported missing.

FENWICK LANE, 1400 block, 11 a.m. July 22. A residence was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

GARDNER AVE., 10000 block, July 24. Property was stolen from a community pool.

GEORGIA AVE., 8200 block, 9 p.m. July 21 to 9:30 a.m. July 22. Property was stolen from an art center entered by force.

JANUARY DR., 1700 block, 4 to 10 p.m. July 24. Property was stolen from a residence.

LANSDOWNE WAY, RUSSELL RD., BLACK OAK CT., LIVE OAK DR., AND SLIGO AVE., July 23 to 24. Cellphones, GPS devices, cash, tires and electronic equipment were among property stolen from eight vehicles.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 11200 block, 12:41 to 1:03 a.m. July 29. A retail store was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

RUMSFELD TERR., 11900 block, 12:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 26. An attempt was made to break into a residence. Nothing was reported missing.

TENBROOK DR., 10000 block, 11 p.m. July 25 to 9 a.m. July 26. An attempt was made to break into a residence. Nothing was reported missing.

BUCKNELL DR., 10700 block, 7 a.m. July 21. A male groped a female pedestrian.

GEORGIA AVE., 12100 block, 3 p.m. July 20. A male approached a girl sitting inside a vehicle, pushed his hand through a window and groped her.

ENNALLS AVE., 2500 block, 3 p.m. July 21. A man threatened a person at knifepoint. A man, 20, of no fixed address, was arrested.

VEIRS MILL RD., 11000 block, July 23. A woman threatened a woman at knifepoint. A woman, 23, of no fixed address, was arrested.

ROBBERIES

CONNECTICUT AVE., 3:35 a.m. July 25. Three males attacked a man sleeping on a bench in front of a grocery store. During a struggle, his backpack was taken from him. The victim, who police said was homeless, called 911. Two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old were arrested.

GEORGIA AVE., 13600 block, 10:45 a.m. July 25. A gunman robbed a restaurant employee getting into a vehicle in front of the restaurant.

GRAND PRE RD. AND CONNECTICUT AVE., 10:30 p.m. July 24. Three males tried to rob a man walking from a bus stop. He had heard them discussing a robbery and had called 911 from his cellphone. When they heard police coming, the assailants fled empty-handed.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 13400 block, 7:22 p.m. July 22. A man who had been hanging around a gas station grabbed a wallet from a female pumping gas and ran away.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE. AND RANDOLPH RD., 13400 block, 9:30 a.m. July 21. Two males got off a bus at the same stop as a female passenger, snatched cash from her hand and fled on foot.

VEIRS MILL RD., 12000 block, 4:30 a.m. July 26. Two males robbed a man at a bus stop of property at knifepoint.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BROOKE RD., 18400 block, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 27. Someone tried to break into a residence.

FLACK ST., 12800 block, July 20 to 21. Property was stolen from a residence that someone entered by breaking into an attached garage.

GLOBE THEATRE CIR., 17700 block, 1:30 p.m. July 21. Property was taken from a residence entered by force. Two males were seen leaving the premises with the property and getting into a black VW Jetta driven by a male.

HATHAWAY DR., 13300 block, 2 a.m. July 23. A person broken into an occupied residence, then fled empty-handed when confronted.

MCMAHON RD., 1200 block, 8 a.m. July 20. Property was taken from a residence. Three males, ages 14, 15, and 15, were arrested.

LOCBURY CIR., 12800 block, July 25 to 26. An attempt was made to steal a 2008 Mitsubishi.

LOST KNIFE CIR., 18200 block, 9:45 p.m. July 28. Three males attacked a man and robbed him of property.

NINA CT., 1 to 100 block, 10 p.m. July 27. A group of as many as six males attacked a man and robbed him of cash. One arrest was made.

QUINCE ORCHARD RD., 600 block, 11 a.m. July 20. Two men with their faces covered demanded that a man surrender his wallet. The victim resisted, and the assailants fled empty-handed.

SUMMIT AVE. N., 300 block, 12:05 a.m. July 25. Four males and a female attacked a man and robbed him of cash.

VICTORY FARM DR., 500 block, 1:35 a.m. July 22. A male who had just been given a ride to his home by an acquaintance got out of the vehicle and robbed the motorist of property at gunpoint.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BOYSENBERRY WAY, 9900 block, 6:15 p.m. July 24. Three males tried to break into an occupied residence. When confronted, they fled empty-handed.

CHERRYWOOD TERR., 200 block, 6 p.m. July 20 to 8:30 a.m. July 21. Property was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in a residence's garage.

CLOPPER RD., 700 block, July 22. An attempt was made to break into a residence.

COPPS HILL PL., 18100 block, July 24. A GPS device, cash and a cellphone were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

RESEARCH BLVD., 2600 block, 4 to 6 a.m. July 22. Property was stolen from a vehicle. Three District men, ages 24, 29, and 39, were arrested that day in Rockville.

SNOUFFER SCHOOL RD., 8000 block, July 21 to 22. Property was stolen from a storage-facility storage unit entered by force.

WALKERS CHOICE RD., 18700 and 18800 blocks, July 24. A personal computer, clothing, and a gym bag were among property stolen from two vehicles entered by force.

PINEWOOD DR., 1:48 to 2:43 a.m. Aug. 3. A man, 22, two Gaithersburg men, ages 21 and 22, and a 21-year-old Germantown man were charged with second-degree assault, trespassing and obstructing and hindering.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BLOSSOM DR., 800 block, 11 p.m. July 28 to 6 a.m. July 29. A GPS device and a cellphone were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

FALLSGROVE DR., 300 block, 11:33 p.m. July 25. An attempt was made to break into a residence by kicking in the front door.

MARTINS LANE, 300 block, 4:15 July 27 to 8:20 p.m. July 30. A wallet was stolen from a locked locker at a swim facility. In a separate incident, a cellphone, keys, shorts and a wallet were stolen from a locked locker.

POTOMAC VALLEY RD, 1200 block, 11 p.m. July 13 to 7 a.m. July 14. Prescription medications were stolen from a nursing home.

RESEARCH BLVD., 1400 block, noon to 1 p.m. July 27. A wallet was stolen from a desk drawer at an office.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 200 block, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 27. A gym bag containing two pairs of swim goggles, two bathing suits and two recreation center identification cards was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

ROLLINS AVE., 100 block, 7 p.m. July 29 to noon July 30. A TV was stolen from an apartment-complex exercise room.
