-- President Obama rallies his political troops with an online health-care forum sponsored by Organizing for America, a project of the Democratic National Committee and the successor to his campaign organization, at 2:30 p.m. He will outline his strategy and message, the group said.

-- Vice President Biden appears at Chicago's Sinai Community Institute with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and David Blumenthal, her department's national coordinator for health information technology, for a midday discussion with health-care providers on reforming the system.

Later, Biden holds a fundraiser for Rep. Debbie Halvorson (D-Ill.), a first-term congresswoman who once served alongside a certain president from Illinois in the state Senate.

-- Afghanistan holds presidential elections.

-- The International Swine Flu Conference reaches the midpoint of its three-day meeting at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill, with panels that include "Limiting the Spread of Swine Influenza Through Effective Swine Carcass Management" and breakout sessions on topics such as "Mass Fatality Management Planning."
