-- The fabled Pierre Hotel is honoring the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's discovery of New York Harbor with a $400 rate. Guests staying on Sept. 3, the day the explorer sailed into the harbor from the Atlantic, receive the discount price, plus continental breakfast. The rate is valid only on the "classic" room category, which typically starts at $650 a night. Taxes of 14.75 percent and a $3.50 occupancy tax are additional. -- Air Canada is offering fare sales to select Canadian cities, such as Toronto and Halifax. Round-trip fare from Washington Dulles to Montreal, for example, starts at $454, including taxes. Other airlines are matching in some markets, but on Air Canada, you can check two bags for free. Book by Aug. 27 at http://www.aircanada.com; travel by Dec. 10. -- Adventure Life Voyages is offering free air, plus a land tour extension, on its Jan. 24 cruise to Antarctica. The 11-day sojourn aboard the Clipper Adventurer starts at $5,990 per person for a triple cabin or $7,390 for a twin and includes free round-trip airfare from Washington to Ushuaia, Argentina, and a three-day tour to Iguazu Falls, on the border of Argentina and Brazil. The trip to the falls precedes the cruise and includes flights, accommodations, breakfasts and tours. About $50 in taxes additional.
