The television networks will offer several specials Wednesday night to honor the life of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.). What has been announced so far:
6:30 p.m. "NBC Nightly News" (NBC): Brian Williams anchors the hour from Hyannis Port, Mass., the site of the Kennedy compound.
7 p.m. "Teddy: In His Own Words" (CNN): Though the network will report on Kennedy's death on all programs, including "Larry King Live" at 9, it also will air this HBO documentary on his childhood, as well as his speech from last year's Democratic National Convention.
7 p.m. "NewsHour With Jim Lehrer" (WETA): In addition to featuring reactions to Kennedy's death, the program talks to people who knew Kennedy best, including Sen. Orrin Hatch and Ted Sorensen.
8 p.m. "American Experience: The Kennedys" (WETA): An encore of the special that looks at the lives of all members of the legendary family.
8 p.m. "Ted Kennedy, the Last Brother" (CBS): Katie Couric anchors with footage from the archives, from a clip of Kennedy giving a tour of his office to an interview after his nephew John F. Kennedy Jr., along with John's wife, Carolyn, and sister-in-law Lauren Bessette, died in a plane crash.
10 p.m. "Remembering Ted Kennedy" (ABC): Charles Gibson reports from Hyannis Port, and Diane Sawyer from New York for an hour reflecting on Kennedy's legacy in the Senate.
11 p.m. "The Kennedy Brothers: A Hardball Documentary" (MSNBC): The special, originally scheduled to air Thursday, will run a night early as Chris Matthews hosts another look at the family.
