John Feketekuty and Joyce Yu wanted their Aug. 15 wedding at Glenview Mansion to reflect both of their heritages. She emigrated from Taiwan; his parents are Greek and Hungarian. Their noon wedding was a reunion for college friends and an opportunity for their families to meet and celebrate.

The food: Catering by Uptown mixed cuisines from Feketekuty's and Yu's cultures. Spanakopita was passed during hors d'oeuvres; along with a roast, the lunch buffet also had Greek and Asian salads.

The ambiance: Guests wandered the grounds of the 19th-century mansion in Rockville's Civic Center Park as they sipped cocktails and ice water in the August sun. Yu's bridesmaids wore apple-red dresses, a color considered lucky in Chinese culture.
