A 24-year-old Waldorf man was killed very early Wednesday morning after he lost control of his motorcycle on Route 5 in Hughesville and struck a guardrail, police said.
The man, whom police did not immediately identify because his family members had yet to be notified of his death, was traveling north near Old Route 5 when he lost control and crashed into the rail. Investigators believe speed to be a factor.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 12:40 a.m., police said.
