Traffic on Rockville Pike will be shifted to a new bridge built over Montrose/Randolph Road during the next two weekends.

Beginning Friday night and continuing into the following morning, southbound traffic will be shifted onto the new bridge. Northbound traffic will be shifted beginning the following Friday, Sept. 19, and continuing into that Saturday morning.

To avoid delays during the traffic switch, drivers may use Interstate 270. The traffic switch represents the beginning of the final phase of a project involving Rockville Pike and Montrose/Randolph Road in Rockville. The project is scheduled to be completed by late fall 2010.
