Postal Clerk Accused of Stealing
A former postal clerk stole nearly $60,000 in stamps from a Northwest Washington post office over seven months last year, federal prosecutors say.
Reginald Mallett, 51, of Clinton, pleaded guilty Thursday in the District's federal court to misappropriation of postal funds. As part of his plea deal, he agreed to resign from the Postal Service.
Mallett is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 17. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
