Normal service has been restored to Red Line trains at Metro Center and Gallery Place-Chinatown, Metro said. Trains are running on both tracks and no further delays are expected. The two metrorail stations had been operating on limited service after a man was struck and killed by a train Sunday morning, Metro said in a statement.
Metro reported that eyewitnesses said that a man placed himself in the path of the train. There was no Red Line service at the Metro Center and Gallery Place-Chinatown stations due to the incident which occurred at 7:58 a.m. Service was restored at approximately 11:11 a.m.
