Kiffin-Meyer Adds Spice To Vols-Gators Matchup

Florida Coach Urban Meyer said Sunday he was surprised this past February when first-year Tennessee Coach Lane Kiffin falsely accused him of a recruiting violation, especially given the close relationship Meyer shares with Kiffin's father, Monte, who serves as the Volunteers' defensive coordinator.
Meyer has spent time with Monte Kiffin each offseason as far back as 1996, when Meyer was an assistant at Notre Dame and Kiffin was the defensive coordinator of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But after Lane Kiffin's remarks last winter, the build-up to Saturday's game between No. 1 Florida and Tennessee will be more focused on a less cordial relationship.
Meyer instructed his players after Saturday night's win over Troy not to discuss the Volunteers' new coach or his comments. . . .
UCLA quarterback Kevin Prince will miss three to four weeks with a fractured jaw suffered during Saturday's win at Tennessee. Prince, a redshirt freshman, was injured late in the game when he was tackled for a safety. It is unclear who will start Saturday for the Bruins against Kansas State . . .
Pittsburgh sophomore safety Andrew Taglianetti tore his left anterior cruciate ligament in Saturday's win at Buffalo and will miss the rest of the season.
